Pride and Prejudice
The Pomperaug Theatre Company is preparing a new production for this spring, Jon Jory's theatrical adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. This is a show that ties in closely with PHS curriculum, based on one of the most dynamic pieces of literature in the English language. It will be presented in our auditorium on Friday, May 2nd & Saturday, May 3rd at 7:30p.m., and on Sunday May 4th at 2:30 p.m. This show marks the first time a major production at PHS is student directed. Senior Nick M. will direct the play under Mr. Doniger's supervision.

The Board of Education will be honoring ten Volunteers of the Year on Monday night. Also, Region 15 would like to thank its 2,100 volunteers who in 2007-2008 tirelessly put time and energy into the school system....READ MORE>>

Hannah H., a sixth-grader at Rochambeau Middle School, won the Northeast regional award in an essay contest, sponsored by BIC Corporation. She was one of 11,000 entrants....READ MORE>>

Melissa Sweet visited elementary school students this week. Also, at PES, representatives from Bent of the River met with Ms. Sweet, author/illustrator of many books, including The Boy Who Drew Birds (about John James Audubon.)....

LMES Leopard's Pride
5th grader, Anna F., wrote a skit about the Magic School Bus traveling throughout the galaxy, to culminate their unit on the solar system. The students from Mrs. Poulin's class performed the skit at this month's Leopard's Pride.

Board of Education
Click here for the Board of Education calendar and agendas. Region 15 Board of Education meetings will be held in the Pomperaug High School All-Purpose Room #103 at 7:30pm.

Babysitting at PHS
Pomperaug High School's Pomperaug Guidance Assn. will sponsor babysitting at PHS Auxiliary Gym, 5:30-8:30pm on Friday, April 25th, $10 per child.  To register, email Diane Miller.

Donate Your Gently Used Prom Dress
The Pomperaug Guidance Association is accepting donations of gently used prom dresses to give to Waterbury girls who cannot afford to buy one. Bring your old dresses to the PHS Guidance Dept. by April 30th.

Boys Lacrosse Sponsor Car Wash
The boys lacrosse team will be having a car wash fundraiser on this Saturday, April 26 (9:00am-3:00pm) at Pomperaug Elementary School.

FIRST Open House
Project Panther Team 2064 invites you to an Open House to showcase and celebrate the achievements by the Region's FIRST (For Inspiration of Science and Technology) Teams: The Panther Project (PHS); The Mindstorm Mustangs (MMS); and Lego Leopards (LMES).
May 13th, 7:00pm--PHS All Purpose Room

Team 2064-The Panther Project Family Night with the Rock Cats
May 20th, Game Time 6:35pm, but get there early for pre-game Robotics Events. Proceeds will benefit Team 2064-The Panther Project. Reserve tix by May 6th by contacting Christine Dibble.

PHS's FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) to Fundraise for March of Dimes
Students representing the FBLA will be walking at Quassy on April 27th to raise money for the March of Dimes. To make a donation or participate in the walk, click here.

PTO Dinner
The Region 15 PTO Dinner (buffet) will be held at the Heritage on Tuesday, April 29th.   If you would like to attend and have not yet sent in payment, please send payment directly to LMES c/o Kathy DeRienzo for $35 per person.   Please also call Kathy at 267-7626 to let her know you plan to attend.
