Lunch Prices Increase at All
Schools
Due to increased food and
dairy costs
and healthier menu choices, the prices for school lunch
are:
Elementary Sch: $2.30 (.50 milk)
Middle & High Sch: $2.50 (.50 milk)
(a la carte
items are priced individually)
New Teachers
Region 15 is proud to
welcome 28 new teachers (and a new interim principal at
GES) to the school system. In August, new teachers
attended an induction program where they were introduced
to issues including special education, teacher
evaluations, sexual harassment, master mentor support,
and technology. The Region 15 community wishes all the
new staff great success for the upcoming school year....SEE

PHS Students Win
Video Production Awards
PHS video
production students at WTCH, under the supervision of
teacher Charlie Vlahos, won recognition for excellence
in educational programming. Chris D. won a SKYE award
for Outstanding Youth Director, and Pomperaug News
Network won an award for Outstanding Series.

5th.
Field Hockey
Coach Speaks at Leadership Breakfast
Linda Dirga, PHS Field
Hockey Coach, was the guest speaker at the United Way
of Greater Waterbury Leadership Council Breakfast on
September 11. Ms. Dirga's team won the Division and
Conference Championships in 2006, and she was named the
2007 National H.S. Coaches Association Coach of the
Year. Ms. Dirga was joined at the breakfast by three of
her current players.

MMS PTO Book Fair
The book fairs have already begun! Please support
your PTO's book fair. Eighth-grader Amber D., 13, of
Middlebury looks over some books, including a cookie
recipe book at the Memorial Middle School fair.
