1. CALL TO ORDER:

Ms. Perry called the October 9, 2007 Personnel Policies/Curriculum Committee meeting to order at 6:35 a.m.

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

A motion was made to approve the September 10, 2007 minutes, was so moved by Mr. Shapiro and seconded by Mr. Shipway and all committee members approved.

3. INFORMATION AND PROPOSALS:

A. 2007 – 2008 Personnel Policies/Curriculum Committee Topics – The committee decided to table until the next meeting in order to have more time to consider topics for discussion.

B. Field Trip Proposal – Dr.Yolande Bosman reviewed a field trip proposal for a select group of students to travel to China April 9, 2008 through April 19, 2008. After extensive discussion, Mr. Shapiro made a motion and seconded by Ms. Elias and all committee members approved to move the proposal to the full Board for consideration at tonight’s meeting.

 

 

INFORMATION AND PROPOSALS

 

C. PAEP 2007 – 2010 Contract: Mr. McLiverty reviewed the key changes to this contract with the paraprofessionals, secretaries and aides. This contract brings the duties and job titles in line with the tasks that are actually being performed and the rates of pay. The Personnel Policies/Curriculum Committee supports the recommendation of the Finance Committee.

 

4. REVIEW OF PERSONNEL: Dr. Sippy presented Exhibit A and the addendum.

Mr. Shapiro made a motion to recommend the full Board approve Exhibit A and the addendum at tonight’s Board of Education meeting and seconded by Mr. Shipway and all committee members approved to advance to the full Board.
