Family and Consumer Science Curriculum Philosophy

   The Career and Technical Education Department combines three disciplines: Business and Finance Technology, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Technology Education. 

   In order to best prepare PHS students for post-secondary study, the Career and Technical Education Department has adopted the spirit of the Perkins Philosophy: to broaden the content of and participation in vocational education in secondary schools and to improve the position of vocational education in secondary education relative to academic or general education.
