Region 15 Wants You to Check Out the NEW Field & Track and NEW Gymnasium at PHS

 v    Nearly 600 high school athletes competing on 8 different teams during this academic year will use the new Pomperaug High School turf field and rubberized track. Physical Education classes will also be conducted on these new spaces.

 v    The Pomperaug High School new track has a rubberized surface that is softer and easier to walk on. No bikes or roller blades are allowed on the track. There is a paved path that encircles the track on which this equipment may be used.

 v    The new gymnasium seats 1,420 persons. The SWC Girls’ Volleyball Championships were held there and it will also be the site of the SWC Girls’ Basketball Championships in March 2005.

 v    Town Park and Recreation departments have booked both the new gymnasium and the auxiliary gymnasium for Recreation Basketball teams.

 v    The auxiliary gymnasium, still called the Mike Savo Gymnasium, still has a regulation, full-sized basketball court.
