Professional Development

The purpose of Region 15's Professional Development Council is to promote a professional learning community committed to developing the skills, understandings and relationships necessary for the success of all learners.

The Professional Development Council members will meet approximately five times per year to:

• Collaborate to problem-solve district-wide issues.
• Advance an organizational culture that recognizes and embraces the factors necessary for self-renewal.
• Plan and evaluate professional development programs based on district and school needs.
• Ensure professional development offerings abide by Connecticut State Department of Education CEU guidelines.
• Maintain open and continuous communication across buildings.
• Review applications for BEST program mentors and cooperating teachers.

Members of the Professional Development Council include teachers, administrators, and parents.
