Communication

 

Policy

 

It is the policy of the Region 15 Board of Education that Region 15 schools belong to and are operated for the benefit of the citizens of the Region.  Therefore, information concerning the Region’s schools and their operation is public information.  It is in the interest of both the educational community and the citizen-taxpayers of Middlebury and Southbury that there is free and open communication at all times.
 

1.

To establish and support appropriate and effective communication between the administration and other District employees.

2.

To inform the general public about school policies, programs, objectives, and plans for the future.

3.

To establish and support a productive and effective school/community organization.

4.

To provide information about the school system to internal and external audience using all available means including publication and distribution of news releases, school board agendas and meeting summaries, newsletters, and brochures on various subjects.

5.

To earn the goodwill, respect, and confidence of the citizenry in the personnel and services of the school system and to help citizens assume a more direct responsibility for the quality of education the Region provides.
