Advisory Committees to the Board

Policy

It is the policy of the Region 15 Board of Education that the Board of Education welcomes recommendations and criticisms from all citizens.  Toward that end, Ad Hoc Committees may be created by the Board for special purposes.  Such committees shall be broadly representative and directed in their work by specific tasks assigned by the Board of Education.

1.

Each committee will receive written instructions from the Board of Education.  Such instruction will delineate the tasks to be accomplished, timetable, and other pertinent information.

2.

A written summary of findings and recommendations of a District ad hoc committee shall be presented by the committee chairperson or delegate and the Superintendent of Schools for action by the Board of Education.

3.

It is recognized that the Board of Education possesses certain legal power and prerogatives which cannot be delegated or surrendered to others including ad hoc committees.  The ad hoc committee will be considered advisory in nature.
