Smoking

Policy

The Region 15 Board of Education is committed to maintaining and improving the health and well-being of students and employees alike.  Medical research has demonstrated that smoking poses a significant risk to the health of the smoker and the non-smoker.  Furthermore, the Board of Education accepts the educational principles that one teaches best by example and that, in schools, all employees serve as role models to the student body.  Therefore, the Board adopts the following policy which shall be applicable to students, employees, and visitors alike:

Smoking will be prohibited at all times in all Board of Education buildings and grounds at all times. 

Regulations

Violation of this policy will be met with appropriate disciplinary action stated clearly in advance.
