It is the policy of the Region 15 Board of Education that any student who is a resident of the Region, whether enrolled in a Region’s school or private school, and who is experiencing significant learning  problems, shall be referred to the Individual Education Program (IEP) Team in the schools (or the school he/she would be attending if being educated in the District.  The IEP Team will review the case, and if appropriate, recommend that the student have a comprehensive evaluation, conducted by a multi-disciplinary team.  After all assessments are completed, an IEP Team meeting will be held to review the results, identify the student’s needs, and determine eligibility for a special education program and/or related services.

If the student meets the criteria for special education and/or related services an Individual Education Program (IEP) including goals and objectives will be developed for the student.  This program will be reviewed at least annually, and the student will be re-evaluated at least every three years.
