disturbances and disruptions

 

POLICY

 

 

 

It is the policy of the Region 15 Board of Education that it has a responsibility to protect the lives of Regional School District 15 students and staff and to preserve public property, hereby adopts the following policy relating to disturbances and disruptions on any property under its jurisdiction.

 

a.

Any student or group of students disregarding administrative instructions to cease and desist from any activity which is the opinion of the administrator in charge is disruptive, relating to the safety of school personnel and the preservation of public property, shall be directed to leave school premises at once.  Those failing to do this shall be reported to the local Police Department for appropriate action.

 

 

b.

Any person or group of persons, students, or non-students whose actions, in the opinion of the administrator in charge, constitute a clear and present danger to the welfare and safety of the student body or staff shall be immediately reported to the local Police Department for appropriate action.  The Superintendent shall be immediately notified.

 

 

c.

In the case of either a. or b., the Superintendent shall receive full oral and written report as soon as this is practical.

 

This policy is not intended to deny legitimate right of appeal through proper administrative channels or the free exercise of constitutional rights under appropriate circumstances.  The judgment of the administrator in charge relative to the action of any or all persons on property under his jurisdiction shall prevail until such time as he shall have been contravened by appropriate administrative or legal authority.
