It is the policy of the Region 15 Board of Education that there shall be two student representatives to the Regional Board of Education.  Representatives shall be elected for two-year terms.  Such elections will be supervised by the governing Board of the Regional High School and shall be run by election procedures established by that group.

 

The elected student representatives shall serve as a liaison between the Board of Education and the student body.  The elected representatives are encouraged to:

 

 

1.

present ideas to the Board of Education for discussion

 

2.

present the Board’s philosophy on education matters to the student body.

 

Student representatives shall have the right to:

    

 

1.

participate in all Board discussion

 

2.

be represented on the Board’s agenda

 

3.

make recommendations for consideration of the Board of Education

 

4.

be eligible for appointment to certain Board committees.

 

The elected student representatives shall not be eligible to vote on Board matters nor shall they be present  at executive sessions of the Board unless invited by a majority vote of the Board.
