After Logging Into the System With Your Username and Password

1. Double Click the My Computer Icon to expose the contents of your computer.

2. Double Click your Home directory. This is the drive icon with your name on it.( i.e. joesmithon'mmslab').
   

3. Right click on a white space and choose New...

4. Then choose the proper product from the list provided.
   

5. The title will appear highlighted. You should rename this file right away. A good name usually has your initials and the title. (i.e. MMCHPoetry)

Notes: If you start the program from the start menu, you may accidentally save it to the hard drive of the computer you are working at. This means that you will not be able to access that file from any other computer in the building. By creating the file in your home directory, you make it so the file will saved onto the network. Then you can work on it from any PC in the school.
