Kindergarten

The Kindergarten students at PES have recently completed a very interesting science unit on Matter.  We experimented with changing cloth and paper by folding, tearing and crumpling it.

We tried to shine a light through different forms of matter.  We made our predictions as to which matter light will pass through.

We learned about metal woos and clay.  We used wood, metal, paper and cloth as well as various other treasures to build wonderful sculptures.

We changed the form of clay to make pinch pots.  We painted them when they were dry.  Mrs Neal is working with the children on pinch pots in art that will be glazed and fires in the kiln.

How to Make a Paper Mache Pig by PES Kindergartener

First you need to make a pig shape with a balloon and paper cups.

Cover up well, because this is a Messy project!

Dip strips of newspaper in a flour and water mixture and cover the pig shape very well! (  This is the messy part!)

When the paper mache is dry, paint your pig pink or any other cool color.

You can add polka dots if you like

Glue on the eyes, mouth and nostrils.
Ask a grown up to hot glue the felt ears on your pig.

Last add the curly pipe cleaner tail by poking a hole in the back of the pig.

Enjoy your really cute pig!
