Third Grade

Students in third grade had the opportunity to visit the Native American Indian Institute. Students were able to walk through an authentic Native American village and explore the wigwam, longhouse, and dugout canoe. They were informed of the three most important crops; corn, squash, and beans. Some lucky students even got to try on a few of the artifacts.

Students were able to show their creative side when they made dream catchers. Family members were present to help out and give support along the way. Students are showing off their dream catchers with pride.

Miss Stoddard's class had a feast with Native American cuisine. Students were able to sample Indian pudding, succotash, acorn squash, and homemade ginseng and cranberry tea. All of the food was prepared by two Chefs, Mr. and Mrs. Ludorf, who also shared information about the Indian’s lifestyle and traditions.
