Music has three different curricula for the three different grades. Music is taught by Mrs. Brewer and Mr. Choomack. In 6th grade music, students learn about instruments and types of music. They also use programs to compose music by arranging many precomposed "sections" to make their own unique piece. In 7th grade students create their own radio shows using microphones and special effects. At the end of the 7th grade music curriculum, the students start to learn the basics of guitar playing. 8th grade music is also known as guitar. It is strictly for learning how to play guitar. In each semester of guitar class, the students perform in a concert. Miss Chaves teaches one of the two guitar classes.
