Fall is the season for school book fairs. On a beautiful day in late September, the students from Gainfield Elementary School visited their Media Center to create wish lists and buy books, pencils, posters, and more!

   "We use a lot of committed volunteers to make the book fair successful," said Genia Brockett, GES Book Fair Co-Chair. (Below: Natalie P. brings her books to Mikelanne Phaneuf for purchase at the GES Book Fair.)

   "Co-chair Catherine Hirschauer's and my goal is to get books into the hands of children and to help raise funds for the school's media center," said Mrs. Brockett.

   The Middlebury Elementary School book fair is scheduled for October 17-20; Long Meadow Elementary School Book Fair is on October 24-26; Rochambeau Middle School Book Fair is on October 25-27; and Pomperaug Elementary School Book Fair is November 14-16. Memorial Middle School had their book fair in mid-September.

   Because the Book Fairs have books for all ages, they are a wonderful opportunity to pick up holiday gifts for children and friends.
