REGION 15 SUPERINTENDENT TO ADDRESS PARENTS AT PTO MEETINGS ABOUT BUDGET

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Frank H. Sippy will present his 2008-2009 school budget recommendations to parents and other interested parties at Region 15 Parent-Teacher Organization meetings. Dr. Sippy first presented his budget recommendation to the Pomperaug Regional School District 15 Board of Education on February 11th.

The public will have a chance to address the Region 15 Board of Education at their April 7th Public Hearing. Upon listening to the community’s and Dr. Sippy’s concerns and recommendations, the Board will collectively arrive at a proposed budget. The Board will then present their 2008-09 school budget proposal to the public on April 9^th at Pomperaug High School at 7:30pm.

The annual Town Talk meeting (not televised) will be held at Pomperaug High School All-Purpose Room on April 22 at 6:30 pm.

“An informed voter is the best voter,” said Dr. Sippy. “I would love to see hundreds of residents at these meetings. I want people to ask questions, make suggestions, and help us remain fiscally responsible to the towns while maintaining a strong school system for the students.”

The referendum vote for the 2008-09 school budget is scheduled for May 7^th and polls are open from 6:00am – 8:00pm at the Southbury Firehouse (Southbury) and Shepardson Community Center (Middlebury).
