Philosophy: Visual language is essential for communicating in our multifaceted world. New technology utilizes visual imagery as an integral and essential means for communication and expression, and requires a work force that can create and understand multimedia resources through an artistic eye. Through the arts, students develop complex problem solving and higher order thinking skills, self-esteem and self-discipline.
Goals: Upon graduating from the Region 15 Public Schools, students will have experienced a broad, well-balanced art education. They should be able to demonstrate skills and knowledge in each of the National/Connecticut Standards for Visual Art.
Curriculum Review Status: The Fine Arts Curriculum is in its Planning stages in 2009-10.
