Connecticut requires that any person (teacher, administrator, special service staff member, teachers aide, custodian, cafeteria employee, nurse, substitute, etc.) who is hired by a local or regional board of education submit to a state and national criminal history record check (including fingerprinting) within the first 30 days of the date of employment. Region 15 requires that substitutes be fingerprinted by a Regional Educational Service Center (R.E.S.C.), such as, Education Connection, ACES, or CREC.
Fingerprinting must be done within the last 12 months. Fingerprinting for Region 15 employees is processed through Education Connection, our area Regional Educational Service Center, with offices located in Litchfield and Danbury, Connecticut.
