Bringing and Picking Up Students
Students should not arrive at school before 8:40 a.m. due to the lack of adult supervision. Classes begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and it is essential that all students be on time every day.
If your child is to be picked up at the end of the day, the following procedures must be followed:
It is essential that you send a note to school if you are going to pick up your child, if your child is going home with someone other than a parent, or if your child is going to a special activity such as Brownies or CCD classes. The note should be addressed to the teacher and should be dated and include the child's first and last name. Please do not call the school or drop in at the end of the day with a request to pick up your child. It is often very hectic and the teacher may not get the message before dismissal.
All parents who are picking up a child prior to 3:40 p.m. must come to the office first. For the safety of all of our children, parents can not walk directly to the classroom to get their child. For this reason, teachers have been instructed not to dismiss students from the classroom. The office will call your child when you arrive. Parents are often delayed on their way to school and valuable classroom time is wasted if the child is sitting in the office waiting.
