SIX STUDENTS RECEIVE SUPERINTENDENT’S AWARD
MMS, RMS, and PHS Students Honored for Leadership and Scholastic Qualities

Dr. Frank Sippy, school superintendent, and the Pomperaug Regional School District 15 Board of Education named six students at the November 14, 2005 board meeting as this year’s recipients of the Litchfield County Superintendent’s Award.  These students were selected by their teachers based on leadership, citizenship, academics, community service, and participation in extra-curricular activities.

The program recognizes students at all grade levels who have served their schools and communities while maintaining good scholastic progress and exhibiting leadership qualities.

Lindsay T. and Cassie F. represented Memorial Middle School; Hannah H. and Connor K. represented Rochambeau Middle School; and Bernard K. and Michael T. represented Pomperaug High School.

“These are well-rounded students who have shown they can balance their schoolwork, extracurricular activities, and volunteerism, and do all three remarkably well,” said Dr. Frank Sippy. “I wish them continued success in all their endeavors.”

The students and their families attended an awards dinner with the superintendent on Thursday, November 17th at the Cornucopia Restaurant in Torrington.
