MEMORIAL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT GOVERNMENT HOSTS TSUNAMI RELIEF CONCERT

   The Memorial Middle School student government hosted a Tsunami Relief Concert on Friday, March 11 at the school. The concert featured a local Connecticut band, Our Finest Hour, as well as Region 15 middle and high school bands.

   Members of the Memorial Middle School student government sold tickets to the concert for a minimum donation of $5.00 per ticket during the week of March 7.

  All proceeds will go to the Connecticut Association of Schools who will use the monies collected from Connecticut schools to rebuild schools, orphanages or libraries in those areas hardest hit by this disaster.

  “The kids at Memorial Middle School love to help people; they have a really giving attitude,” said Lindsay Teardo, MMS student and chair of the student government charity committee. “Everyone wanted to help and all the kids on the committee chipped in with ideas for the concert. We really hope a lot of people will come on Friday night.”

  Our Finest Hour sold sample CDs for $1.00, and donated all money to charities.
