The show’s opening reception will be on April 5th, from noon to 5:00 pm. The show will run from April 5 – April 13. The PHS artists are Jen V., Alicia G., Deanna B., Melanie M., Sara S., Alecia M., Patrick L., Ben P., and Deyana A.. Fine Line Art Gallery also invited young artists from two other area schools, Nonnewaug and Wolcott High Schools. “Pomperaug High School art students feel fortunate and appreciate the opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional gallery such as The Fine Line Art Gallery,” said Mrs. Jane Sarjeant, Director of Fine Arts for Region 15 schools. The Young at Art Committee has instructed each school’s art department to help select works that are representative of their most talented students. According to the Fine Line Art Gallery website, “As part of our long-standing commitment to the community and support of Connecticut artists, we will partner with Pomperaug High School in Southbury, Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury, and Wolcott High School in Wolcott to bring the talent emerging from these schools into the public domain. Additionally, gallery artists will offer artistic guidance and mentoring to support the development of these young artists. The Front Room of the gallery will be dedicated to the student artwork, which will include both two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces.”
