Students from Memorial Middle School (MMS) and Rochambeau Middle School (RMS) participated in and performed at the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) Middle School Music Festival held at the beginning of March at Lincoln Middle School in Meriden, CT. Students were recognized at the Region 15 Board of Education meeting on Monday, April 18, 2022. Each of the musicians submitted auditions of prepared repertoire, that was adjudicated by professional certified musicians under the guidelines of the Student Affairs Commission for the CMEA.
The following students from MMS participated in the CMEA event: Joy Kim, Anthony Mahr, Thomas Zold, Ava Hand, Emma Sander, Hannah Evans, Braia Blinstrubas, Andrew Vongsouvahn, and William Gracer. The following students RMS participated: Julian Abramo, Serena Bacetti, Katelyn Barstrom, Addison Evans, and Olivia Kim.
Since its inception in 1932, Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) includes over 1,000 professional music educators in the state. They are dedicated to providing programs and activities for professional educators, students and future music educators striving to enhance the quality of music education for all children.
