Students from Pomperaug High School (PHS) demonstrated exceptional business knowledge, leadership, and competitive excellence at the 2026 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference, held on Tuesday, March 17 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.

The annual conference brought together more than 1,700 middle and high school students from across Connecticut, all competing in a wide range of business and career-focused events. Participants showcased their skills in areas such as finance, marketing, public speaking, and business management—while building critical leadership and career-ready competencies.

Under the guidance of Adrienne Brevetti, PHS Teacher and FBLA Advisor, Pomperaug students delivered outstanding results:

Ishaan Nalla — 1st Place, Insurance and Risk Management

Sohan Nelakudity, Peter White, and Luciano Bevilacqua — 3rd Place, Sales Presentation

“These students represented Pomperaug High School with professionalism, preparation, and pride,” said Brevetti. “Their success reflects not only their individual dedication, but also their ability to apply real-world business skills in a competitive setting,” said Adrienne Brevetti PHS FBLA Advisor

The FBLA State Leadership Conference provides students with valuable opportunities to test their knowledge, earn recognition, and connect with peers who share an interest in business and leadership pathways.
