The Pomperaug High School Music Department is proud to announce that two student musicians, Joshua Bang and Kyler Kumi were selected to participate in the All- Eastern Honors Ensemble which will take place at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center in Rochester N.Y. on April 13-16, 2023. Joshua will be performing with the All-Eastern Jazz Ensemble and Kyler will be performing with the All-Eastern Mixed Choir.

The most musically talented high school students in the Eastern region of the United States are selected to perform in the 2023 All-Eastern Honors Ensembles. These exceptional students will prepare challenging programs under the leadership of prominent conductors in this biennial event.

Connecticut represents 8% of the total musicians participating in the festival. Other states participating in the festival include New Hampshire, Delaware, New Jersey, the District of Columbia, New York, Pennsylvania, Maine, Rhode Island, Maryland, Vermont, and Massachusetts.

The Friends of Pomperaug Music, Inc. (FoPM) is generously sponsoring half the participation cost for each of these students. FoPM is a Connecticut 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed to provide opportunities for students to succeed through continuous excellence in music education.

“We are proud to have Joshua and Kyler represent Pomperaug High School and Region 15 schools. We appreciate the support of our entire music community in providing our students with opportunities to pursue their passions and continue their music education,” said Linda Hughes, Orchestra / Choral Director at Pomperaug High School.
