The Pomperaug High School Theatre Company received multiple HALO Awards and nominations at the 19th Annual HALO Awards held on June 1, 2022 at The Palace Theatre in Waterbury, CT. 

The HALO Awards, sponsored by 7 Angels Theatre in Waterbury, is a gala red carpet event that celebrates the best in Connecticut High School theatre. 80 schools from across the State of Connecticut participated in the event and numerous awards in 39 different categories, including Best Actor and Actress in a Musical, Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Musical, Best Acting by an Ensemble Cast, Best Specialty Ensemble in a Musical, Best Student Choreographer, plus categories for lighting, design, stage management, and special effects are given.

The Pomperaug Theatre Company had five award winners and twenty-two HALO nominations for their productions of The Hound of the Baskervilles: A Comedy starring Jennie Watson and Shirley Holmes and The Wizard of Oz during the 2021-22 school year.  Madge O’Toole, PHS drama teacher, is the artistic director of The Pomperaug Theatre Company.

HALO Awards were given to Emily Aldo, for Special Recognition to a Student Director;  Kate Goncalves And Jimmy Hunter For Outstanding Choreography;  Aisling Gowen as Dorothea Stapleton for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play in The Hound Of The Baskervilles: A Comedy Starring Jennie Watson And Shirley Holmes; Jimmy Hunter as Scarecrow for Best Comic Male Performance in a Musical in The Wizard Of Oz; Kate Goncalves As Jennie Watson for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play in The Hound Of The Baskervilles: A Comedy Starring Jennie Watson And Shirley Holmes.

In addition, the Pomperaug Theatre Company received the following nominations for HALO Awards for The Hound Of The Baskervilles: A Comedy Starring Jennie Watson and Shirley Holmes:
