Region 15 Schools is proud to announce that our Board of Education (BOE) has been honored with the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) Board Recognition Award. The CABE Board Recognition Award program was established in 1998 and highlights boards that contribute significantly to the advancement of education in their communities.

Region 15’s BOE was selected as a recipient of this prestigious recognition for the exceptional leadership of the Board and its commitment to advancing the quality of education in the district.

The recognition was presented at the 2024 CABE/CAPSS Convention, on Friday, November 15th, 2024. Commissioner Charlene Russell-Tucker of the Connecticut State Department of Education was on hand to present the award.

“We are incredibly proud of our Board of Education for receiving this recognition,” said Joshua Smith, Superintendent of Schools. “This award reflects the hard work, collaboration, and dedication of our Board members, who continually strive to make thoughtful, student-centered decisions that positively impact our entire school community.”

“We are grateful to our Board members for their leadership and dedication,” said Marion Manzo, Chair of the Region 15 Board of Education. “The award acknowledges their tireless work and unwavering focus on keeping students at the center of policy and decision-making and our board’s dedication to prioritizing student success and ensuring students and staff have the resources and support they need.
