The 2024-25 school year has officially has officially begun! On Thursday, August 22nd, we welcomed to Convocation our educators, administrators, support staff, and Board of Education members who are ready to make this school year unforgettable!

Convocation began with a String Quartet featuring Region 15 educators:  Rachel Sloan, Emily Edely, Ashley Dunn and Nate Wood.

Our Pledge of Allegiance was led by Carole Calzone, Region 15 Paraeducator of the Year.

Featured student performances by:

-William G who shared a Jazz Ballad on piano

-Andrew V and William G who shared a violin and piano performance of “Meditation” from Thais by Jules Massenet

-Addison B and Leah R performed Piano Man by Billy Joel with a guitar accompaniment. 

We recognized Region 15 Employees who have completed 20 years of service in the district and recognized Danielle McCauley, the Connecticut Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Teacher of the Year.

We welcomed Guest Speaker Lori McEwen, Ph.D., to share how a Portrait of a Graduate will be developed in Region 15.

Our Region 15 Teacher of the Year, Stephanie Bregman, a Special Education Teacher, inspired us all to make sure all students have a full and meaningful life.

From inspiring keynote speakers, special recognitions, spectacular student performances and thank yous to our Board of Education members and local town leaders, we’re gearing up to set the stage for a successful school year!
