About Superintendent Joshua Smith

Mr. Joshua Smith was appointed as Superintendent of Schools by the Region 15 Board of Education in July, 2018 after having served 22-years as an administrator, program director, and teacher. He has extensive knowledge of school district operations and improvements along with a commitment to collaborative planning and communication.

Prior to his leadership in Region 15, he led the New Milford Public School District as the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, Director of Information and Technology for Ridgefield Public Schools, Program Manager and Educational Technology Specialist at Area Cooperative Educational Services in Hamden, and as middle school teacher in New Milford.  His educational career began here in Region 15 as a student teacher at Rochambeau Middle School. He has served as president of the Connecticut Education Computer Association and as a member of the Commission for Education Technology.
