Kindergarten Registration

We are excited for your child to begin their educational journey in Region 15!

Our Kindergarten enrollment period begins in January for the upcoming school year. 

2024-25 Kindergarten Information 

All students entering Kindergarten in the 2024-25 school year must first complete the Kindergarten Initial Student Registration Form.  

Kindergarten Initial Registration Form

• Effective for the 2024-2025 school year, Public Act 23-208 requires students to be 5 years old by September 1st to enroll in Kindergarten.  This is a change from the previous date of January 1 for enrollment.  As a district, we are aware of the potential impact this may have on families.
• The Connecticut State Department of Education gave guidance to districts about this change.  This guidance provides families the option to waive the September 1st entry date through written request and student participation in an assessment completed by the district. • Region 15 will accept students who will turn age 5 by January 1st per written request from the family. Students will then participate in a screening assessment in the areas of academic, social, physical, health, behavioral, and communication skills. 

For those who complete the Initial Kindergarten Registration Form, schools will be reaching out near the end of January with the next steps regarding registration and paperwork required for enrollment.

IMPORTANT DATES: Parent/Guardian Information Session is scheduled for Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. (Snowdate Tuesday, March 12, 2024) at each elementary school.
