Kindergarten Registration
We are excited for your child to begin their educational journey in Region 15!
Our Kindergarten enrollment period is now open for the upcoming 2026-27 school year.
Public Act 23-208 requires students to be 5 years old by September 1, 2026 to enroll in Kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year. Region 15 will accept students who will turn age 5 by January 1, 2027 per written request from the family.
Registration Information

All incoming Kindergartener families should complete the Kindergarten Initial Registration Form.

Once the Kindergarten Initial Registration Form has been completed, you will receive an email within a few days with important next steps, including details on orientation, required documents, and other helpful information to prepare for the school year. Please keep an eye on your inbox (and check your spam/junk folder just in case!)

For students born between September 2, 2021 and January 1, 2022, you will be contacted by email with more information regarding a screening assessment in the areas of academic, social, physical, health, behavioral, and communication skills after completion of the Kindergarten Initial Registration Form.
Important Dates:

A Parent/Guardian Kindergarten Information Night will take place at each elementary school on Thursday, April 23rd, 2026 at 6:00 pm.

Meet and Greets will take place at each elementary school in May. Elementary Schools will contact families directly for appointments (specific dates for each school to be scheduled).
Gainfield Elementary School: May 19 and May 22, 2026
Long Meadow Elementary School: May 18 - May 22, 2026
Middlebury Elementary School: May 27 and May 28, 2026
Pomperaug Elementary School: May 27 and May 28, 2026 -
An Orientation will be held on August 26th, 2026 at each Elementary School.

Voluntary Family Reading History Questionnaire (Provided by the CT State Department of Education)
Families may choose to complete this questionnaire to share information related to language development, early reading behaviors, and any family history of reading or learning challenges. This information helps educators gain a more complete picture of each student and supports instructional planning.
Completion of this form is voluntary and is used alongside other information to support student learning.
